Our Operations

Within the department of plastic and maxillofacial surgery, a large part of the hospital's highly specialized national and regional care is conducted, as well as four national highly specialized care assignments (NHV), in close collaboration between different specialties. The department comprises nearly 200 employees and is characterized by a broad reconstructive plastic surgery practice.

We are quality certified according to ISO 9001:2008 and SS-EN 15224:2012. Our profile areas are burn care, cleft lip-palate surgery, craniofacial surgery, and microsurgical reconstruction. Patient care is conducted in multidisciplinary teams, and a large number of cross-professional research and development collaborations are carried out in close cooperation with Uppsala University.

Your Mission

As a specialist physician in plastic surgery at Uppsala University Hospital, you will be part of a dynamic and highly specialized team with close collaboration across professional and clinical boundaries. You are expected to participate in both clinical work and operational development, education, and research. We are facing a continued development of our microsurgical operations and are therefore looking for specialists who can contribute to strengthening the operations in several areas. The position is particularly aimed at those with a focus on microsurgery, with an emphasis on one or more of the following areas:

• Head and neck reconstruction
• Lymphedema surgery
• Lower extremity reconstruction and other microsurgery

Experience in driving and participating in development and improvement work is of great importance and will be decisive for the appointment to the position. In your role, you will be part of the team that conducts and develops the highly specialized lymphedema surgery care within the framework of NHV Lymphedema Surgery. Pedagogical ability and commitment to the education of junior colleagues are highly valued.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed physician with specialist competence in plastic surgery. You have a documented interest in and experience with microsurgery. Competence and/or research in lymphedema is highly meritorious, as is an interest in microsurgical development and innovation. You will be part of the future, and we hope you bring energy and commitment to make it as good as possible.

We Offer

Permanent employment with an initial probationary period. The position is preferably full-time, but the working hours can be discussed. Start date according to agreement. On-call and standby duties are included.
