As a technical specialist in civil engineering, you will play a key role in the progress of projects, supporting project management with your expertise in bridge and civil construction. You will work closely with our suppliers, review documents, and actively participate in design meetings. Are you Trafikverket's new technical specialist in civil engineering? Job Responsibilities
As a technical specialist in civil engineering, you will be a central part of the projects, contributing to everything from planning to production. You will work in several different contracts and phases, from early planning to the development of tender documents and execution in full production. With your expertise in bridge and civil construction, you are a key person in ensuring that the structures meet technical requirements and contracts.
You will collaborate closely with project management and review documents against applicable regulations. You will also be an important link to our suppliers, providing support during design, participating in meetings, and following up on deliveries during production. The role includes participation in procurements, evaluating consultants, and collaborating with construction managers to ensure high quality in execution.
This position also offers the opportunity to work strategically on developing routines and regulations, and you will participate in research and innovation. You will have access to a large network of Sweden's leading specialists within Trafikverket and work cross-functionally with adjacent technical areas such as geotechnics, rock engineering, hydrogeology, and environment.

The preferred location for the position is Borlänge, Eskilstuna, Gävle, Linköping, Norrköping, Uppsala, or Örebro.

QualificationsWho are you?
We are looking for a communicative person with the ability to listen actively and convey information clearly and appropriately, depending on the audience. In this role, you will have many points of contact both internally and externally, so it is important that you have good collaboration skills and a willingness to find balanced solutions that benefit the project's success. You are goal-oriented and driven to solve tasks both independently and in collaboration with others. The role also requires strong problem-solving skills, where you are expected to weigh the impact of various aspects, such as progress, economy, production methods, and environment, to find the best solutions.
We are looking for someone who
- has a Master's degree in Civil Engineering/Infrastructure Engineering with a focus on bridge construction, or another engineering degree combined with work experience that Trafikverket deems equivalent.
- has many years of current and relevant work experience in assessing, managing, and independently preparing documents for bridge constructions.
- has current and relevant experience working with industry documents, applicable regulations, and frameworks within the field of civil engineering.
- holds a valid driver's license for passenger cars
- has good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form
It is advantageous if you
- have many years of current and relevant work experience in design related to bridge constructions.
- have current and relevant experience working as a technical manager or project manager regarding civil engineering.
- have current and relevant work experience from planning and construction of railways and/or roads.
- have current and relevant work experience from the inspection of construction documentation regarding civil engineering in accordance with Trafikverket's regulations.
