The Hägnan Open-Air Museum is an experience-based museum where visitors can experience history with all their senses. At Hägnan, visitors learn how the development in the locality and society has created changes in people's ways of living and earning a living over three centuries. The museum preserves and conveys the cultural heritage of the Norrbotten coast by bringing historical environments, buildings, objects, traditions, customs, and practices to life for visitors of all ages.

The Hägnan Open-Air Museum features historical environments and gardens, a general store, a stage, dance floors, and several other buildings. In the summer, the café, museum courtyards, and play areas are open to visitors, and the open-air museum is filled with animals and various activities and events. We are now looking for someone who wants to work with animals, service, and maintenance with us at the Hägnan Open-Air Museum this summer.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Hägnan Open-Air Museum is looking for a caretaker responsible for the museum's animals during the summer. The museum's animals are an important part of the mission to convey the cultural heritage of the Norrbotten coast, and the work involves planning for the summer season, proper handling and administration, animal transportation, ongoing care, and supervision of the animals that the open-air museum is a foster parent for.

The role also includes telling visitors about the animals, caring for the museum's grounds, service and maintenance work, transportation, as well as planning and preparation for program activities. Well-functioning service is an important part of the guest experience, and you, together with your colleagues, are responsible for providing the visitors of the Hägnan Open-Air Museum with a qualitative and positive overall experience.

Scheduled working hours on weekends and evenings may occur. The employment period is from 2026-06-01 to 2026-08-31 (or by agreement).

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is responsible, self-driven, and good at taking initiative. You easily adapt and handle unexpected situations calmly and positively. You are handy and can perform simple repairs and solve problems that arise. We value that you are outgoing, accustomed to providing good service to visitors, and have a well-developed ability to collaborate. We place great importance on your personal qualities.

For this position, you need:

• An animal care education or similar that the employer assesses as equivalent.
• Experience required in similar tasks.
• At least a B driver's license.
