Category Buyer

Responsibilities

As a Category Buyer, you will:

  • Develop and implement strategic category plans to optimize costs and supplier base.
  • Drive project purchases in close collaboration with internal project teams.
  • Negotiate and write contracts with suppliers and build long-term relationships.
  • Conduct cost analyses and work with Excel for tracking and reporting.
  • Ensure deliveries and quality through proactive supplier management.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has/is:

  • 3–5 years of experience in purchasing, both strategic and project-based.
  • A higher education in purchasing, engineering, or economics, or equivalent experience.
  • Skilled in contract negotiations and supplier relationships.
  • Proficient in Excel and comfortable with data analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
  • Experience from the automotive industry is a plus but not a requirement.

About the Company

JTEKT Column Systems AB is a system supplier that develops, produces, and sells adjustable steering columns, telescopic shafts, and valves to leading manufacturers of trucks, buses, and agricultural machinery in Europe. The company is a market leader in steering columns for heavy vehicles in Europe, a position achieved through successful product development and production. We currently employ about 160 people and have a turnover of 45 MEUR. JTEKT Column Systems AB is part of the Japanese JTEKT group, a global system supplier to the international automotive industry. We operate according to IATF 16949 and ISO 14001. The location is Eskilstuna.
