We are now looking for a strategic purchaser in medical technology. Job Responsibilities
As a strategic purchaser in medical technology, you will work in a modern joint purchasing organization in Region Sörmland and Region Västmanland. The role involves project managing the entire procurement process, from needs analysis to implementation and contract follow-up. Your tasks include contract follow-up as well as building a business dialogue with suppliers and internal clients. Based on our common goals, you will provide a resource-efficient purchasing process and be a knowledge resource in procurement law, business strategy, and stakeholder management.
In this role, you will handle varied tasks, both strategic and administrative. Based on your experience and personal preferences, there is an opportunity to develop the content of the position to ensure you thrive and grow with us. As a strategic purchaser, you will belong to the procurement unit, with around 20 purchasers, investment coordinators, and contract controllers. You will be part of a purchasing team alongside roles such as operational purchaser, tactical purchaser, and category leader.
About the Workplace
Purchasing is a common central function for both Region Sörmland and Region Västmanland, where you will be employed by Region Sörmland. We have offices in both regions in the locations of Nyköping, Katrineholm, Eskilstuna, and Västerås. We provide business support in all types of purchasing issues. The purchasing operation is responsible for the regions' procurements of goods, services, and construction contracts with a procurement spend of approximately 9 billion SEK per year. We work in a category-driven manner, which means we group our purchases based on the supplier market to achieve the greatest possible benefit. Together, we work to develop the purchasing operation through effective resource use to support the regions' operations towards a balanced economy. The purchasing operation currently consists of 42 employees divided into teams. Our employees have extensive knowledge and commitment to the entire purchasing process. Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a university degree in a relevant field such as law, technology, or healthcare. A higher education in medical technology and/or law will provide merit points in the selection process. If you do not have a university education, you may still be considered relevant in the selection process. In that case, you need to have documented solid experience in purchasing and procurement work complemented by training such as YH education, university courses in the field, or other courses we deem relevant. It is advantageous if you have participated in procurement work/projects in medical technology in the public sector where LOU/LUF has been applied. If you have independently conducted procurements or otherwise worked in the purchasing and procurement area with the application of LOU/LUF, that is also advantageous, as is experience in market analysis and business strategy work in purchasing. We require good knowledge of the Swedish language, where you should be able to express yourself well in both spoken and written forms. If you also have an understanding of and can express yourself well in spoken and written English, that is advantageous.

You have an easy time creating structure and the ability to prioritize and focus on the right things when you have multiple tasks and collaborations to manage simultaneously. In this role, you need to understand and apply both business and legal principles and have a strategic perspective. When faced with challenges at work, you demonstrate perseverance and motivation with a focus on results. In your projects, you collaborate within the purchasing function as well as with other employees within both Region Sörmland and Region Västmanland. This places high demands on your collaborative skills and that you contribute to a positive work culture while being able to communicate clearly and sensitively.
Employment Conditions
Permanent, full-time. Possible placement locations are Eskilstuna, Nyköping, Katrineholm, and Västerås. Start date and placement location according to agreement. Since you support operations in both Sörmland and Västmanland, travel in the job may be necessary. We offer part-time remote work.
