Gammelkroppa Lax AB engages in sustainable farming of salmon and trout for release into the Vänern system, linked to compensation farming for the hydropower industry. We are a small, dedicated team working closely with nature and with great care for fish welfare, the environment, and quality. The operation is characterized by seasonal variations and practical, operational work year-round.

Job Responsibilities

As a fish farming assistant, you will work with the entire chain of farming-related tasks and contribute to ensuring that production operates safely, efficiently, and in accordance with animal welfare standards. Responsibilities include, among others:

• Daily supervision, care, and feeding of fish
• Cleaning, disinfection, and maintenance of farming equipment and tanks
• Monitoring and managing the water environment (flows, oxygen levels, etc.)
• Handling fish during sorting, weighing, and transport
• Participation in sampling, record-keeping, and quality assurance
• Practical work both indoors and outdoors in all weather
• Other relevant tasks in the farm

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Interest in agriculture, aquaculture, or biological work
• Good physical condition as the work is practical and sometimes heavy
• Driver's license (B)
• Detail-oriented, responsible, and cooperative

Meritorious:

• Previous experience in aquaculture, fish farming, or working with animals
• Knowledge of water chemistry, e.g., measurement and interpretation of pH, oxygen levels, ammonium, nitrite, hardness, or similar
• Experience in sampling or record-keeping in environmental/production contexts
• Familiarity with working in field environments or technical operations (pumps, filters, etc.)
