Your Responsibilities

We intend to collaboratively develop the best possible school library with everything it entails.

In this role, you will collaborate with school management, teachers, and other staff in primary and adapted primary schools.

As a school librarian, your primary task is to promote students' interest in reading and contribute to increasing literacy, together with students and teachers. Together, we will develop strategies, structures, and materials that contribute to an accessible language-developing learning environment. You are also a central part of the school's digitalization efforts and contribute to developing students' knowledge and skills in areas such as ICT, information retrieval, and source criticism. You will also be responsible for the budget and purchasing of literature and other media for the library.

You will be part of the administration's network of school librarians. The network meets regularly and is led by the administration's school library coordinator. The purpose is to create a platform for school library development through systematic quality work, further education, collegial learning, dialogue, as well as information and inspiration. Interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis.

Your Qualifications

You have a bachelor's degree from a library program or education in library and information science. You have previous experience as a school librarian and have good knowledge of the governing documents of primary and adapted primary schools. You have experience collaborating with teachers and in reading promotion work where you meet students both individually and in groups. As a person, you are clear in your leadership, proactive, structured, communicative, and have a high relational ability. You have a good ability to inspire students and young people to develop a love for reading. You have the ability to meet students with different needs and conditions.
