Data Analyst at the Swedish Customs

The Swedish Customs is an authority with significant data resources and ambitions to utilize these more effectively to strengthen our mission of creating a safe and secure society. We are on an exciting transformation journey where we are modernizing how we manage, share, and use data to create more value. A large part of this transformation work is carried out within the cross-agency development area called Data and Analysis, which is divided into three delivery areas: Data, BI, and AI.

The Data and Analysis development area assists all divisions, departments, and delivery areas of the Swedish Customs with knowledge, competence, and products in data management and analysis, based on BI and AI technology. We work with management and innovation and conduct prerequisite-creating development work in the area. The work is performed in agile teams with cross-functional competence (IT, law, security, data analysts, business expertise, etc.).

About the position

As a data analyst within the BI delivery area, you will work both strategically and operationally to identify, create conditions for, and carry out data analyses and visualizations. You will work on refining existing BI dashboards, developing new ones, and establishing guidelines for the area both in the short and long term. You will have the opportunity to drive change assignments and develop the authority's data-driven working methods in close collaboration with other data analysts and employees across the authority.

You will be part of one or more delivery teams where you support business specialists with requirement specification and needs identification within the BI area and assist in conducting analyses and providing decision support for various target groups. You will actively work to shape the authority's data usage for increased value creation by driving method development in data analysis and working on competence development and training for both managers and employees.

You will be part of a strategically important area that is under construction and will be able to help shape both your own role and our work processes and direction. We are in an expansive and exciting phase.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A university degree in e.g., computer science, statistics, social sciences with a quantitative profile, or other education or experience that the employer deems relevant for the position
  • Current professional experience (at least two years in the last five years) of qualified work in data analysis or statistical methodology
  • Current professional experience (at least two years in the last five years) with Power BI or equivalent BI tools
  • Professional experience (at least two years) in processing and analyzing large datasets and complex data
  • The ability to write, visualize, and present analysis results verbally
  • The ability to express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish and English
  • Swedish citizenship

It is a merit if you have:

  • Experience in programming in R or Python
  • Experience in programming in SQL
  • Experience working in the public sector
  • Experience with agile working methods

Employment form: The position is a permanent employment and may start with a 6-month probationary period, and individual salary setting applies.
Start date: As soon as possible
