Department of Wildlife, Fish and Environment

A researcher position is announced at the Department of Wildlife, Fish and Environment at SLU, Umeå.

About the Job

The main focus of the research is on wetland ecology and restoration. The researcher will work both as part of a team in restoration ecology and independently develop and drive externally or internally funded research projects.

Your Background

Requirements:

  • PhD in ecology or equivalent
  • Skills and experience in field-based ecology
  • A broad background in analysis and modeling of ecological data at species and community levels.
  • Knowledge of wetland ecology within the boreal or nemoral zone.

Qualifications that are meritorious:

  • Experience in plant and insect surveys, as well as various methods for field-based ecological surveys.
  • Knowledge in conservation research, biodiversity, and restoration ecology.
  • Experience working in international networks, project management, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Skills in R.
