Area of Operations: Ambulance and Emergency Care
We are Akademiska sjukhuset – one of Sweden's leading university hospitals. As a regional hospital and provider of highly specialized care, we offer healthcare to two million people in Central Sweden. There is always something happening here – a new life is born, a grandmother is operated on, a colleague is hailed as a hero. With us, you will experience both tough challenges and fantastic events, in a strong community with colleagues. See parts of our reality in our photo exhibition; akademiskafotoutstallning.se (http://akademiskafotoutstallning.se). Welcome with your application!
Our Operations
Emergency care is a central and extensive part of healthcare. Our area of operations consists of two sections; emergency care and ambulance care. The emergency care section consists of the emergency department. Here you have close access to specialist knowledge, research, education, and about 40 dedicated emergency physician colleagues.
Emergency care operates around the clock, and you will therefore have varying working hours. As an employee at the university hospital, participating in education and supervision is included.
Within the area of operations, we conduct basic and specialist training for nurses and doctors at all stages of their careers. We conduct multiprofessional and innovative research with national and international partners, as well as quality and patient safety work with a focus on proactive operational development. We are connected to the Swedish Emergency Care Registry (SVAR) and conduct courses in Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS).
Our university hospital is a level 1 trauma center. The adult emergency department sees approximately 52,000 patients annually, with a lower age limit of 15 years, but is also responsible for younger children with potentially life-threatening conditions. Our goal is to provide good, appropriate, high-quality, specialist-driven emergency care for all patients, regardless of the reason for seeking care. We strive to be a health-promoting workplace with good leadership and flexible working methods, and therefore continuously work on education and development.
Your Mission
Part-time position with 50% teaching, administrative, and pedagogical work within Emergency Care in the basic education program, the 6-year, license-granting medical program (LP). You will participate in the design and coordination of established educational elements in T5 and T11. You will also be responsible for coordinating and developing educational elements, clinical supervision, practical skills, and interactive scenario training with other educationally responsible colleagues.
The mission is combined with clinical duties. This includes clinical work in the adult emergency department and the pediatric emergency department (surgery/orthopedics) as we also staff the pediatric emergency surgery/orthopedics.
Your Qualifications
You are a licensed physician with an interest in and experience of teaching and emergency care. Administrative and scientific experience is an advantage. You have a strong interest in education and development work within the area of operations.
Your Competence
We are looking for engaged and driven colleagues with pedagogical ability. You have a patient-focused approach to emergency care and take responsibility for quality development. You are clear, attentive, humble, and responsible, with both the student and the patient in focus. In the organization, there are supervisors or senior colleagues available for support in assessments and decisions. Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.
We Offer
We offer a fixed-term full-time position for 6 months. Before hiring, extracts from the police's suspicion and criminal records, license control, and checks of any remarks with IVO as well as your references will be conducted.
With us, you will receive benefits that make a difference; read about the benefits here (https://regionuppsala.se/jobba-hos-oss/bli-var-nya-kollega/formaner/).
