Stureby Care and Nursing Home is a municipal nursing home with 90 apartments for people with dementia. About 100 employees work in teams focused on safety, quality, and person-centered care. We work from a salutogenic approach where the goal is to create a meaningful and functional everyday life for both residents and staff.

Your role

As a custodian, you are responsible for ensuring that premises, inventory, and common areas function well and contribute to a safe and pleasant working environment. You will work preventively but also be able to find quick solutions. The role involves a great deal of personal responsibility and independent work in combination with close collaboration with the operations, property owners, and external contractors. Service is a central part of the assignment, with daily contact with residents, staff, and relatives.

The position is broad and varied. About 70% of the work is located at Stureby Care and Nursing Home, while the remaining 30% is within other operations.

Your main tasks

  • Property maintenance, supervision, and rounds.
  • Troubleshooting, minor repairs, and fault reporting.
  • Systematic fire safety work and occupational safety work.
  • Furnishing, relocations, and assembly and repair of inventory.
  • Service and support to staff and residents.
  • Handling of keys and locking systems.
  • Orders and goods reception.
  • Mail handling.
  • Maintenance of storage and material inventory.
  • Other tasks that the operations consider relevant within the custodian assignment (room inspections, handling of food waste, etc.).

Your skills and experience

Requirements for the position

  • High school education, preferably with a focus on property maintenance, or other relevant education.
  • Experience working as a custodian or in property maintenance.
  • Good ability to communicate in Swedish, both spoken and written.
  • Good IT skills and ability to work in digital administrative and communication systems, such as the Office suite.
  • B driver's license.

It is meritorious if you also have:

  • Education in technology, construction, or craftsmanship.
  • Previous experience working as a school custodian.
  • Experience in systematic fire safety work.

To fit well and thrive in the role, you need to be social, outgoing, and have a high degree of service orientation. You are both flexible and a problem solver, while good planning ability is of great importance. You need to be able to work independently and have the ability to take your own initiatives and prioritize. It is essential that you can collaborate and maintain good relationships with the nursing home and group housing staff, managers, contractors, and other external partners.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities.
