WorkNorway is now looking for an HSE Engineer.
Our client is a well-known construction group operating in both Sweden and Norway, with a turnover of over 10 billion SEK.
For a large project in Northern Norway, we now need to hire an HSE Engineer. The project is expected to continue for another 1.5 years. The project is in the oil and gas sector at a larger facility and includes both construction and civil engineering work. Among other things, two larger concrete buildings will be erected, as well as modifications to existing buildings with associated infrastructure.
About the position:
As an HSE Engineer, you will play a central role in the daily work of the project and work closely with the project management and HSE manager. The role combines practical work in the field with systematic monitoring and coordination of HSE requirements, routines, and activities. The role involves ensuring compliance with laws, requirements, and internal HSE regulations. You will follow up on chemical management, risk assessments, training, deviations, and safety routines, and actively participate in meetings, safety rounds, safety analyses, and daily follow-up on HSE matters.
Responsibilities:
*Motivate and influence employees to actively participate in workplace safety and health efforts.
*Follow up and control mandatory training for employees.
*Ensure that safety data sheets for all substances and chemicals are approved in the chemical register.
*Ensure that chemicals requiring risk assessment are assessed.
*Assist the HSE manager in current matters with authorities.
*Assist the HSE manager in following up on reporting of unwanted incidents and deviations.
*Work closely with project management and participate in regular safety rounds.
*Participate in HSE meetings, production meetings, and reviews of other HSE activities.
*Ensure that mandatory checks are carried out on machines, equipment, lifting gear, scaffolding, and other technical equipment.
*Ensure that necessary personal protective equipment is available and distributed.
*Ensure that the environmental monitoring plan is followed and participate in regular meetings with the environmental officer.
Qualifications:
*You are educated in occupational health and safety or have a relevant background.
*You have experience in operational HSE work within the oil and gas industry (on-shore).
*You have at least three years of documented experience in HSE work.
*You have a good understanding of risk assessment, chemical management, and systematic occupational health and safety work.
