Group Manager for the Administration of Pharmaceutical Matters
As a manager at the Medical Products Agency, you act with commitment, courage, and trust, focusing on the whole and the common mission. Together, we work for the health of people and animals – for a better Sweden, today and in the future. We are now looking for a group manager for the unit Administration of Pharmaceutical Matters.
Our Operations
The unit for Administration of Pharmaceutical Matters (ALM) is responsible for the entire administration of incoming applications regarding pharmaceutical approvals. The unit consists of 34 employees divided into three groups. It is for one of these three groups that we are now seeking a group manager. The group consists of pharmacists and administrators, and the tasks include, among other things, handling the release of public documents and invoicing application and annual fees for pharmaceuticals. The unit is represented in many projects within the authority and is involved in influencing the development of and requirements for our IT support. Within the unit, there are no sharp boundaries between the three groups, and many employees work across group boundaries, which means that the three group managers need to have close contact and good collaboration with each other. We work on continuous development of improved routines, flexibility, and clarity. The work is carried out under great personal responsibility based on governed routines and is permeated by communication and collaboration within the unit and between different units in the authority.
Your Responsibilities
Your task will be to lead the workgroup and be responsible for daily planning and follow-up, such as scheduling, within your area of responsibility. You will have daily contact with your employees and support them in operational issues. In addition to the role of personnel manager, you are expected to lead the development of both the organization and individuals by providing your employees with the best possible conditions to perform their tasks and grow and develop in their roles.
You contribute to continuous collaboration with the unit manager and other group managers in the unit and are also part of the unit's management team. Representing the unit may be relevant in various contexts.
The position includes implementing news and changes. You will also work on the development of processes and working methods, with an emphasis on digital methods, for continued efficient operations and appropriate deliveries. The idea is that you should also be able to contribute to the operational work within the unit to some extent.
Your Background
You have a relevant pharmaceutical university education and have worked for several years as a manager with personnel responsibility. Good experience of collaboration in a management team is a requirement. It is advantageous if you have previously worked in a government agency, in regulatory activities, or have led administrative staff. It is also advantageous if you have worked with change management or with requirements for IT support. You have a good command of both spoken and written Swedish and English.
Your Personal Qualities
We are looking for someone who thrives in a leadership role where you support competent employees and can create the right conditions for them. You have good communication skills and the ability to engage and build well-functioning teams. You see the whole picture of the organization and have the ability to prioritize. We expect you to work proactively and structured to develop the organization, and you are motivated by achieving good results together with others. You are relationship-oriented and have the ability to collaborate within the unit and with other units in the authority. You have initiative, are unpretentious and confident in yourself, and have high integrity. We place great emphasis on personal qualities.
