Your upcoming role

In the role of Train Technician with us, you will work with various types of maintenance on our trains. The work includes preventive and corrective maintenance of mechanics, electronics, and software. You will be an important part of a team that together ensures that all our trains receive the service and maintenance required for the trains to be safe and punctual.

The work involves shift work as our operations are open 24/7 all year round. You will either work permanent night shifts or permanent day/afternoon shifts.

Expectations for the candidate we are looking for

We are looking for someone who has a strong inner drive and a desire to make a difference – every day. You are responsible, meticulous, and motivated by contributing to safe and punctual traffic. We also hope that you enjoy challenges and want a varied job.

• You should have a high school diploma in technology, vehicles, electrical engineering, or similar, or relevant experience

• You have experience in industry, service, mechanics, or technology

• Previous work in vehicle maintenance, regardless of industry, is an advantage

• You need to be fluent in Swedish in both spoken and written form

As a person, you are flexible, safety-conscious, and have a commitment to what you do. You need to be open to learning new things and taking on significant challenges. You will also work in a team, which requires good collaboration and communication skills, while also being able to work independently.

To work as a Train Technician, you must undergo a health examination. You must be drug-free, have good vision, good hearing, and color vision, and otherwise meet the requirements according to the Transport Agency's regulations on health examinations and health status. SJ also applies, in accordance with the Transport Agency's guidelines, random alcohol and drug tests.

What is SJ Stockholmståg AB?

SJ Stockholmståg (SJP) is a subsidiary of SJ AB and has had total responsibility for suburban trains since March 3, 2024; traffic, maintenance, and service. The suburban train traffic is an important artery for many residents in the Stockholm region. On a typical Tuesday, over 340,000 people travel with the suburban trains in Stockholm, and as the city grows, it is our responsibility to offer the opportunity to travel sustainably.
