Planning and Development Unit

Water is our most important resource, and Gotland's water supply is a pressing and current issue.

The Planning and Development Unit is part of the Water and Waste Department.

The Water and Waste Department works with the development, renewal, and operation of our facilities such as water sources, water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, pipelines, landfills, and recycling centers. The department works to ensure a safe and sustainable water supply for our subscribers and contributes to Gotland's sustainable development through good planning, prioritization, and engaged employees with significant personal responsibility, within the framework of a good working environment.

Within the organization, there is extensive experience, and you will always have the support of the entire Water and Waste Department. The department consists of approximately 130 employees who look forward to welcoming you.

The position is located in Visby and belongs to the Planning and Development Unit (PUV). The unit works with planning and design of new construction as well as renewal of water and wastewater facilities such as water treatment plants and wastewater treatment plants. PUV also drives projects that form the basis for strategic decisions regarding Region Gotland's future water supply. The unit is also responsible for the development and expansion of control, regulation, and monitoring systems as well as work related to Region Gotland's water sources.

Your Responsibilities

As an electrical engineer at PUV, you will develop technical requirements and solutions within electrical power technology and electrical safety for essential water and wastewater facilities, focusing on functionality, operational reliability, applicable legal requirements, and sustainability. In internal projects for renewal and modernization, you will be responsible for drawings, calculations, and project documentation as a basis for the execution of electrical power and control for process equipment. The work is carried out in close collaboration with operational staff, technical specialists, and external consultants.

Who are you?

You have an academic engineering degree or equivalent with a focus on electrical power technology and electrical safety.

A valid driver's license (B) is required as the job involves site visits.

Experience in the design and implementation of electrical, control, and automation systems within water and wastewater facilities, process industry, or food production is advantageous, as well as competence in electrical power sizing, electrical safety, and control engineering. Experience in producing tender documents, construction documents, control cabinet design, and qualifications in high voltage A, low voltage AL, and electrical safety certification (e.g., ESA) is also advantageous.

As a person, you are performance-oriented and motivated by achieving set goals and delivering high-quality results. You are persistent and have the ability to work focused and solution-oriented even in complex, long-term, or demanding challenges.

You work systematically by planning, prioritizing, and documenting your work in a methodical and efficient manner. With a strong quality awareness, you take responsibility for ensuring that work is performed accurately and in accordance with applicable requirements, standards, and procedures. At the same time, you have a well-developed problem-solving analytical ability, where you identify root causes of problems and develop sustainable and well-thought-out solutions.

You are responsive and service-oriented and need to have an easy time collaborating and communicating with others. You naturally contribute to workplace joy and care for a good working environment.

You are fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written.
