The Bromma district administration offers you a workplace where your efforts can truly make a difference and contribute to the community benefit in a growing district. Here, active employee participation and clear leadership are the foundation for a developing operation.

Welcome to us

Do you want to be part of starting a completely new organization focused on creating a sustainable and attractive urban environment in Bromma? Now that we are transitioning to the operation of parks and green areas in our district, we are looking for you who want to join us on this journey as a park worker/machine operator.

The Bromma district is facing an exciting transformation journey as we prepare to take over waste management and maintenance of parks and green areas under municipal management. About 82,000 residents live here.

You will be part of the new unit for the operation of parks and green areas, which, together with the project organization, is part of the urban environment area. The unit will consist of a team leader and a team of park workers led by a unit manager. The group will operate from a shared facility that is also used by other colleagues from the urban environment area.

We have high ambitions to develop the public outdoor environments of the district and look forward to having you with us on this journey! Warm welcome to submit your application!

We offer

For us, it is important to have fun at work! You will become part of an engaged workgroup focused on the residents of Bromma. Our operations are characterized by collaboration, courage, empathy, and respectful interaction. You will be offered good employment benefits such as professional development, wellness grants, and vacation exchange. Please read more about our benefits and working in Stockholm city here (#).

As a park worker/machine operator, you contribute to creating a safe, well-maintained, and pleasant environment for the residents of Bromma with the goal of working long-term, sustainably, and circularly. Together with the other fifteen park workers in the unit, you form the park group and have daily dialogue with the area’s team leader. During the summer season, the unit will be reinforced with seasonal and temporary workers.

The unit for the operation of parks and green areas is an organization under construction. Park operations in-house will start in the spring of 2026 after being outsourced for over twenty years. Here you have an opportunity to influence the development of the new unit by contributing your knowledge and experience. Together, the unit will focus on designing effective and climate-smart working methods and sustainable operations that provide value for the residents and the environment in Bromma.

Your tasks will vary throughout the year and may include:

Both the role and the unit are new and under development, which means that you may perform all tasks related to park and nature management, waste management, and winter road maintenance. You will have scheduled working hours, and weekend work may occur in connection with holidays and during peak season. Winter preparedness is included in the position.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • high school education in vehicle, land, garden construction, or other education that the employer deems relevant for the position
  • professional experience in winter road maintenance with machinery, at least 3 years

As a park worker, you meet the residents of Bromma daily and are the face of the district. Therefore, good service and a pleasant demeanor are a given for you, and you are driven to create pleasant and well-maintained outdoor environments. You are resilient, work independently, and enjoy working outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions. You thrive in teamwork with colleagues and have the ability to easily adapt to changing tasks and priorities.
