Sports Facility Caretaker for Malmö City

As a sports facility caretaker, you play an important role in creating the best possible conditions for Malmö's elite sports clubs to conduct their activities. You contribute to ensuring that the facilities maintain high quality and that everything runs smoothly for both athletes and spectators. The Leisure Administration's operations unit, Unit Stadium, is now looking for two temporary sports facility caretakers who want to contribute to a safe and well-functioning sports environment.

Job Responsibilities

As a sports facility caretaker at Unit Stadium, you are responsible for both indoor and outdoor maintenance of Malmö City's sports facilities and venues within the stadium area. This position focuses on outdoor work, where you, together with your colleagues, ensure that the facilities maintain high quality and are in the best possible condition. The current position is a temporary contract that extends until June 30, with a chance for extension.

The work includes, among other things:

• Providing good service to clubs and visitors
• Creating and maintaining good relationships with clubs and other stakeholders
• Participating in larger events held in the area
• Ensuring that elite activities have the conditions required to function at a high level.

The position is varied and requires both initiative and physical endurance. You work closely with your colleagues in a team where collaboration and responsibility are crucial for a well-functioning operation. The working hours are scheduled and include evening and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has a high school diploma or other education and/or experience that the employer deems equivalent. To work with us, a B driver's license for a manual transmission vehicle is required. You have previously worked in caretaking, service, or similar practical tasks – preferably in an environment where service and collaboration have been central. If you have a background in community life, as an active member or leader, we see it as a significant plus.

It is highly meritorious if you have experience in:

• Green space maintenance
• Maintenance of artificial grass fields

As a person, you are responsible, flexible, and have good collaboration skills. Providing good service is a given for you, as you will meet both Malmö residents and community life in this role. Therefore, you need to be able to communicate in Swedish and have basic computer skills.

About the Workplace

Unit Stadium belongs to the operations department within the Leisure Administration and is responsible for the operation of several larger facilities in the stadium area – for training, matches, and public events. The area is under development, and several new facilities, including a multi-hall, are planned. The unit consists of four operational sections with about 40 employees and four section managers. We actively work on issues related to inclusion and have conducted training in LGBTQIA+ issues.
