Unit Managers for the Platform Development Section

At the Swedish Migration Agency, we work with one of the major societal issues of our time – migration. We are about 6,000 people here, and we have an unusually important job!

We are now looking for two unit managers for the Platform Development Section located in Linköping or Norrköping.

The Platform Development Section consists of 6 units, each with about 3 development teams. The section is part of the Digitalization and Development Department, which consists of 6 sections.

Your mission

As a unit manager, you will be responsible for steering and leading a unit with a primary focus on platform development. The unit will consist of 15-20 employees, including consultants. It will encompass all competencies necessary for IT development and will also work closely with business knowledge competencies. Examples of competencies within the unit today include system developers, requirements analysts, UX designers, product owners, and software architects.

We are working to develop our working methods, including working more cross-functionally and further integrating business and IT. Your role is to ensure a long-term strategy together with the section management and lead the unit towards set goals. The entire department is facing significant expansion, where recruitment and onboarding of new employees is an important task.

You will have personnel, budget, and work environment responsibility for your unit and will be part of the section's management group, where you are expected to take a holistic perspective and collaborate closely with your managerial colleagues to achieve our common goals. Most of the section's personnel in system development are stationed in Norrköping.

Two unit managers are sought within the Platform Development Section, located in Linköping or Norrköping. The responsibilities for the new units will be system development platform and database as well as master data and BI.

In our work as civil servants, there are also high demands for judgment and a high level of security and confidentiality awareness. We place great emphasis on personal qualities.

You who are applying have

  • a university degree in IT/computer science or other education combined with work experience that the employer deems relevant for the position
  • several years of experience in leading and developing employees and operations within the IT field
  • experience in working with system development
  • several years of experience with agile methods
  • experience in planning and resource allocation considering the nature of assignments, available competencies, and financial resources
  • good ability to express yourself well in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing

It is meritorious if you have

  • extensive experience in system development
  • experience working in a larger organization
  • experience in product ownership within the IT field
  • several years of managerial experience within the IT field

Information

Employment form: full-time, permanent employment with a 6-month probationary period
Location: Linköping or Norrköping
Working hours: trust-based working hours
Start date: as soon as possible or by agreement.

Security screening with background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) will be conducted. This requires Swedish citizenship. Employment is contingent upon a successful security screening.
