LSS Department is Hiring Support Assistant

The LSS department is the third largest department within the welfare administration, tasked with implementing decisions made under the LSS law, primarily decisions regarding housing with special services, personal assistance, and daily activities.

The goal of the support provided is to promote equality in living conditions and full participation in community life so that individuals granted assistance can live like others.

Our work is carried out through individually tailored support with high quality and self-determination, where a good approach permeates all activities. We are now looking for an engaged and goal-oriented support assistant!

Job Responsibilities

You will be responsible for working with the user to establish and follow up on implementation plans, other social documentation, and other administrative tasks/responsibilities such as schedules, purchase orders, health, and safety.

Together with your colleagues, you will perform everyday and planned support interventions and activities with the user, as well as support and motivate in daily activities at home and during leisure time. It is important to build trusting relationships with users and be a good role model.

You will ensure that support interventions are based on the user's individual needs, promote independence, participation, and that they are carried out with respect for the user's integrity and self-determination. You will assist with daily chores and activities, personal hygiene, and medication. The work often requires you to work alone, and the working hours are varied as we provide interventions during the day, evening, weekend, and night.

You will drive development work forward together with colleagues according to established goals, methods, quality requirements, and other guidelines. Collaborating with the user's network, other staff, and other partners is also an important part of the job.

The working hours are distributed evenly across evenings and nights, with weekend work required for 2 out of 4 weekends. The job will involve working alone during some of your shifts.

We have a work-adapted schedule where you as an employee have the opportunity to influence parts of your schedule, and resource shifts and work in other areas may occur.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a high school diploma in either the Health and Social Care program with a specialization in disability or psychiatry, the Child and Leisure program with a focus on social work or educational work, or other equivalent education deemed comparable by the employer.

To work in health and social care, you must be at least 18 years old. It is important that you can professionally meet people based on their individual circumstances and needs. As a person, you are self-driven and stress-resistant with a focus on the individual. You are empathetic and responsible, and you find it easy to collaborate with others. You have good social skills and enjoy working flexibly. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

A valid driver's license (B) is required.

For the job, sufficient knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form is required to communicate with users, perform care documentation, and obtain medication delegation.
