About us

Happy Kids Kungsbacka is a bilingual preschool (Swedish and English) where the children's safety, joy, and well-being are at the center. We have an international environment where about half of the staff speaks English and half speaks Swedish. Our kitchen is an important part of the operation and is directly connected to the children's dining room, which means that as a kitchen assistant, you will have daily contact with the children, even though the position is not pedagogical.

About the role

We are now looking for a responsible and reliable kitchen assistant who wants to become an important part of our everyday life. The role suits you who enjoy routines, like to work independently, and appreciate working in an environment where children are close by.

Responsibilities

As a kitchen assistant with us, you will be responsible for:

• Receiving and handling food deliveries from our lunch supplier.
• Checking the temperature of the food before serving.
• Preparing salads for the children.
• Arranging and presenting the food in serving bowls.
• Preparing and serving snacks.
• Dishes and daily kitchen management.
• Cleaning the preparation kitchen according to an established cleaning schedule.
• Basic baking is considered a big plus.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who:

• Has good work ethic and takes responsibility for their work
• Is meticulous, structured, and enjoys order and tidiness
• Is stable, punctual, and enjoys fixed working hours.
• Has a calm and friendly demeanor, especially around children
• Has a good sense of humor.

Language requirements:

• You must be able to speak Swedish or English fluently
• A basic understanding of the other language is required, as we are a bilingual workplace

Experience:

• Previous experience in a kitchen is not a requirement
• The right attitude, willingness to work, and responsibility are the most important
