Skärgårdskompaniet is a small shipping company operating in the Östgötaskärgården with classic archipelago boats. The boat M/S Svanö departs daily from Arkösund to the island of Harstena in Gryt's archipelago. Occasionally, we also run evening trips or special tours such as guided tours, corporate events, and weddings, etc.

We are now looking for several deckhands for the 2026 season. In addition to the usual deck duties such as assisting with casting off and securing the boat, you will also take care of the passengers. This includes informing them about safety on board, managing sales in a simple bar/café, and answering any questions from the passengers. You will also handle a daily inspection on board (according to a simple checklist) and communicate the need for consumables for ordering.

Personal qualities

As a deckhand on our passenger boats, we see that you have a flexible and humble personality and enjoy providing good service to our passengers. We welcome both male and female applicants, and you must be over 18 years old.

Education & experience

Qualifications:

Basic Safety (opportunity for internal training before the season)

Medical certificate for seafarers (we can assist with this)

Previous experience in service jobs or familiarity with boats is an advantage.

Languages

Swedish and English. German is an advantage.

Working hours & extent

Opportunity for 50-100% from mid-June to the end of August.
