The municipality of Norrköping manages traffic control for both tram traffic and the municipality's sidings. Our operations are a central part of ensuring safe, punctual, and well-functioning public transport for the municipality's residents and visitors.

Our unit consists of ten experienced and dedicated traffic controllers, a safety trainer/safety investigator, and a group manager. Together, we work to maintain a high level of safety, quality, and service in traffic management.

We are now looking for four colleagues who want to work as temporary traffic controllers with us as needed and during the summer!

Your Responsibilities

As a traffic controller with us, you have a central role in ensuring safe and efficient rail traffic.

Your main responsibility is to monitor and manage traffic using computerized monitoring and control systems.

Through these systems, you keep track of daily operations and can quickly take action and solve problems when situations arise, such as rerouting traffic as needed.

You have an important mission, where you are responsible for addressing faults and creating a risk-free working environment for those working along the tracks. You ensure that rail traffic continues to function even during snowfall and in case of problems with switches or signals.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone with a high school diploma, and we prefer that you have experience in rail facilities, operations/traffic management, or in logistics, transport, or public transport.

As we are an operation that occasionally operates with emergency lights, we require that you have a valid driver's license and good experience driving safely and securely.

Furthermore, we prefer that you have experience working with crisis coordination and communication in challenging situations.

As a person, you are resilient and can maintain calm in pressured situations. You easily adapt to changes occurring in the work.

You are attentive and skilled in collaborating with others. You have the ability to lead in various situations and can adapt your leadership style and communication based on whom you are meeting.

You can analyze situations and see solutions where others see challenges. You find it easy to prioritize correctly in difficult situations.

You have a strong safety mindset and can make well-considered decisions.

You have experience using Microsoft Office and can express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.

According to Norrköping municipality's governing documents, you need to be over 23 years old at the start of the training.

Your responsibilities are crucial for traffic safety, thus you need to undergo and be approved in a medical health examination according to the Transport Agency's regulations and provide an extract from the police criminal record before employment can occur.
