Care Assistants Wanted for New Somatic Unit

This spring, we are opening a new somatic unit and we are looking for dedicated care assistants who want to help build a service in an exciting startup phase.

The unit will open in May 2026 in temporary premises and will later move to Forellen. The somatic unit will accommodate 8 residents and will be part of a common work team with our already established departments in geriatric psychiatry and dementia, which are currently located at Forellen. Here you will be offered close collaboration, the opportunity to influence working methods, and contribute to safe and qualitative care.

Your assignment includes caregiving work, and the content of the shifts is based on the needs and wishes of the elderly. This may involve social interaction with our elderly, assisting with meals, and personal hygiene. With us, the importance of activities for our elderly is a significant part of daily work, and we actively work to continuously develop this.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has a care assistant education. If you have experience from working in nursing homes or home care, we consider this an advantage. It is also advantageous if you have previously worked with quality registers BPSD and Senior Alert. Social documentation is an important part of the work, which means you need to express yourself well in the Swedish language, both spoken and written.

Your New Workplace

The Care and Support Administration consists of four departments: Assistance and Health, Functional Support, Elderly Care, and Support and Development. The Care and Support Committee is politically responsible for the administration's work. Our operations involve providing care, support, and services to elderly individuals and to those in need of functional support. We also perform some health and medical care. The vision includes that our efforts should be carried out safely, securely, with dignity, and with influence.

We are about 850 employees working in various locations around the municipality, and we are a mix of support assistants, nursing assistants, nurses, support educators, assistance officers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, care supervisors, and more.

Good to Know

Provided that you meet the requirements for the position, it is mandatory to undergo a digital language test to ensure competence at level B1 according to the Council of Europe’s standard before the interview. Please note that the process will be interrupted if the language test is not passed. You will need to identify yourself with Bank-ID to complete the language test.
