At the Procurement Office, we ensure that the municipality's procurements and purchases are carried out professionally, commercially, and in accordance with applicable legislation, policies, and guidelines.

We are now looking for a procurement officer who wants to take on an important role focusing on school transport, special transport, vehicles, and machinery. Could it be you?

Your Responsibilities

As a procurement officer in Umeå Municipality, you will have a central and independent role responsible for planning, executing, and following up on procurements. You will lead the process from needs analysis and preparation of tender documents to evaluation, contract signing, and follow-up. In this role, you will serve as a qualified support in procurement and contract issues and contribute to developing effective working methods and routines. Legislation is an important tool, focusing on creating sustainable and value-creating business for the municipality and its residents.

Your main area of responsibility includes procurements in school transport, special transport, vehicles, and machinery, but you will also work with other procurement areas. The assignments are varied, and you will manage several procurements simultaneously.

The role is based on close collaboration where different competencies complement each other. The departments contribute their expertise on needs and content, and you contribute procurement expertise, structure, and responsibility for execution.

About You

We are looking for someone with education in procurement, purchasing, law, economics, or other post-secondary education that we consider relevant. Alternatively, you may have work experience that we deem equivalent.

You have an interest in business and procurement issues and thrive in a role with many contact points. You are structured, quality-conscious, and have the ability to plan, prioritize, and drive several processes simultaneously with the support of colleagues and established working methods.

Meritorious:

• Experience working according to LOU
• Experience using the procurement tool e-Avrop
• Experience working with procurement in a municipality or another politically governed organization
