Social Welfare Officer Temporary Position

We are looking for someone interested in working in a smaller administration, which means varied tasks in a small team and close contact with clients, colleagues, and other partners.

Åsele municipality is now seeking a social welfare officer.

Job Responsibilities

As a social welfare officer, you will receive applications, assess needs, make decisions, and follow up on your cases in close contact with the user, relatives, and others in the user's network. Your role also includes informing about the authority's tasks and interventions, relevant legislation, and the user's rights.

Within the unit, we assess applications according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons (LSS). Our work is characterized by a clear user perspective with a strong focus on individual participation.

The needs of our target group can vary greatly; we meet those who live at home and only need support occasionally to those who live in facilities with access to staff support around the clock. The work offers a high degree of variation, where one moment you conduct a follow-up in someone's home, and the next moment you participate in a SIP meeting. In between, you spend time in the office documenting and collaborating with your colleagues.

We work in a complex organization with sometimes high tempo, and you need to be someone who can independently plan your work to meet the needs of the organization.

The authority strives to be transparent towards the users we meet and fulfill our service obligation, while also being legally secure and efficient in our processing.

Qualifications

A degree in social work, social care line, or another education deemed equivalent. We prefer that you have work experience in public authority operations. Experience working with the elderly target group is an advantage. You have good knowledge of the Social Services Act and related areas. To succeed in the role, we believe that you are flexible and can easily see solutions to the challenges you encounter. You can work independently but are also a natural team player. You are professional and have a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing. Knowledge of IBIC and the operational program Life Care is an advantage. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Driving license B is a requirement.

We offer you continuous supervision, flexible working hours, and wellness benefits.

Interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis.

We kindly ask for no contact from recruitment and staffing companies or advertisement sellers.
