Support Assistant at Televägen 1

YOUR ROLE

As a support assistant, you will support and help individuals based on their individual needs, wishes, and conditions. The work is based on implementation plans and is conducted with clear pedagogical methods, structure, and a professional approach.

In this role, you will meet individuals who need security, predictability, and a calm demeanor. The work may involve situations where anxiety or emotional distress occurs, which requires you to work preventively, maintain calm, and use a low-affect approach. You will assist and support in various everyday situations with respect, attentiveness, and stability. The work involves close collaboration with colleagues to create a safe and functional environment around the individual.

The position involves working days, on-call, and every other weekend. The facility includes both sleeping on-call and awake night shifts. Night work is introduced only after you have become familiar with the facility and the residents.

YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE

We are looking for someone with a high school education in healthcare and social services or the child and leisure program with a focus on pedagogical or social work, or equivalent education that the employer deems comparable. You have experience in work where support, service, adaptation, and a professional approach have been central parts of the mission.

You have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form and can communicate clearly as well as document in your work. A passing grade in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1 is a requirement, as well as the physical ability to perform the tasks included in the mission.

You have knowledge and understanding of disabilities and how these can affect an individual's daily life. You work systematically and consciously in your interactions with people and have experience with low-affect approaches. You can adapt your responses based on different needs and situations.

Experience working with individuals with disabilities, mental health issues, or substance abuse is an advantage, as is experience with clear pedagogical methods. You are self-assured, can remain calm in challenging situations, and contribute to a good collaborative climate. Knowledge of Finnish, Sami, or sign language is an advantage.

YOUR NEW WORKPLACE

Televägen 1 is a smaller, cohesive facility where several residents live in the same building. The facility is characterized by close collaboration, clear structures, and shared responsibility in everyday life.

The work focuses on preventive measures through relationship-building, structure, and a shared approach within the staff group. The daily routine can be both calm and active, with shared activities and everyday tasks. Meals such as lunch and dinner are prepared together, and everyone in the workgroup helps out.

The workgroup consists of about ten employees who together staff the facility around the clock. Collaboration is close and based on shared responsibility, continuity, and support among colleagues.
