Workplace Description

Helenelundsskolan is a F-9 school with over 1000 students, located in southern Sollentuna with good transportation links.

We are a school for the future, based on creativity, safety, and learning. We want our students to be challenged in their learning during their time with us and leave school as strong, responsible, and inquisitive individuals, ready for new challenges in life with confidence in their own abilities. We work to ensure that students and staff have the desire to try, the right to make mistakes, and the courage to try again. The school is a certified Olweus school, which means we work systematically with preventive measures against bullying.

The school's large student health team, consisting of counselors, school nurses, study and career counselors, special educators, and special teachers, works both proactively and preventively for students' mental and physical health. They also support you in your work and help you develop in your teaching role.

At Helenelundsskolan, both students and teachers have experience with and work daily with digital tools in the operations. We have an engaged and knowledgeable school librarian who actively supports with reading promotion efforts and student training in source criticism and database searches in the school's library.

The upper secondary school is organized into three teams with team leaders who work closely with the deputy principal responsible for operations.

Job Description

You will teach English in the upper secondary school as well as language options Swedish/English. You will assess and grade the students. The role includes mentorship in year 7.

You will be part of a team in the upper secondary school that collaboratively addresses pedagogical and practical issues that arise. You will also collaborate and develop together with highly knowledgeable subject colleagues. Together with your colleagues, you will plan, take responsibility, and contribute to collegial learning within the daily operations as well as within the school's development areas. In recent school years, we have worked extensively on professional development in all aspects of accessible learning, digitalization, and norm-critical thinking.

Qualifications

We are looking for a certified teacher in English and preferably Swedish.

You want to lead and contribute to a learning culture both in the classroom and among colleagues. Your teaching is well-planned based on the needs of the class or group, and you work in a differentiated and varied manner. You are good at creating motivation and interest, and you are well acquainted with the school's governing documents. You are a natural and clear leader in the classroom and create a good study environment. You place students' knowledge development and safety at the center and are therefore both receptive and unpretentious.

As a person, you are responsible and easily build trusting relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians.

The position is a temporary contract from spring 2026 until the spring term of 2027, starting in week 8, and is 90-100%.
