VoV Engineer at FMV
Do you have experience in vehicle or workshop technology and want to be part of a mission that is vital to society? We are now looking for a new employee for our testing operations of military vehicles. In close collaboration with an experienced team, you will have the opportunity to influence both detail and overall aspects of projects that strengthen the capabilities of the Swedish Armed Forces and Sweden.
About the Position
In this role, you will participate in FMV's verification and validation work (VoV) within the vehicle area in connection with procurement and maintenance of equipment and capabilities for the Armed Forces. You will be involved in planning, conducting, and reporting tests and trials on military vehicle and combat vehicle systems, both tracked and wheeled.
The work is varied and combines practical tasks in the workshop and field with administrative tasks at the desk. Your main responsibilities include testing and trials, delivery inspections, primarily of Combat Vehicle 90, as well as preparations of FMV's test objects. You will also work with ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on both tracked and wheeled combat vehicles and their systems, as well as with weapons and test facilities.
In addition to practical work, office-based tasks such as documentation, reporting, and participation in planning and follow-up of completed work are included. You will also have the opportunity to participate in technical evaluations and analysis work related to our test vehicles and the Armed Forces' equipment and material systems.
This position is suitable for you who enjoy technical challenges and appreciate switching between physical work and administrative tasks in your daily routine.
The position is located in Skövde, but travel and service in other locations occur regularly, both domestically and internationally.
About You
You have an education in vehicle or workshop technology or have acquired equivalent experience in another way that we assess as comparable, alternatively you are a technical officer/specialist officer.
To succeed in this role, you also have relevant experience in vehicle or workshop technology. We consider it advantageous if you have experience with Combat Vehicle 90 or Stridsvagn 122, alternatively other heavy vehicles or military combat vehicle systems. Likewise, if you have a good technical understanding of heavy vehicle systems.
Furthermore, you have the ability to express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish and English. You also have a valid B driver's license. A C driver's license is a plus but not a requirement.
The work involves practical tasks, including heavy lifting and working on and in cramped combat vehicles. Therefore, good physical capacity is a prerequisite for thriving and succeeding in the role.
Personal qualities are of great importance to us. We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds and experiences and are looking for someone who collaborates easily and communicates in a responsive and constructive manner. You work independently and in a structured way, take responsibility for your tasks, and drive the work forward. You are also proactive and easily adapt to changing circumstances.
Your position/title will be VoV Engineer.
