Licensed Speech Therapist to the Rehabilitation Unit
Are you a licensed speech therapist who enjoys a varied job where you can broaden your skills? Then you might be the one we are looking for at the Rehabilitation Unit.
Here at the Rehabilitation Unit, we are a cheerful team of mixed professions with a strong focus on health and health-promoting activities. Our Health Team is an active group that ensures we have health-promoting activities scheduled in our health calendar. New fun activities every month and recurring challenges are on the agenda.
Job Responsibilities
As a speech therapist, you will assess and treat adult patients who, due to illness or injury, have speech, language, communication, and/or swallowing difficulties. The tasks are varied and involve work in inpatient care, outpatient care, and possible home visits. You will be part of a team of three speech therapists.
We work with general medical departments with 24/7 operations (cardiac and pulmonary diseases as well as gastrointestinal, liver, kidney, and blood diseases), an acute care unit, and an acute stroke unit, as well as rehabilitation departments focused on stroke, orthopedics, and geriatrics. We also work in an external stroke team. The Rehabilitation Unit also has assignments with various clinics, including dialysis and advanced home care (AH). We also conduct outpatient rehabilitation in teams for individuals with strokes and other acquired brain injuries. As a speech therapist, you will also receive referrals from primary care.
About the Workplace
With us, you will be welcomed to a workplace with a family-like and open work climate. The clinic has a primary care emergency unit with an acute care unit and three care departments. There is also a dialysis clinic, a medical clinic with day medicine, advanced home care, and the rehabilitation unit. Fagersta Hospital has a care department, a medical clinic, and a rehabilitation unit.
Currently, there are three employed speech therapists in the unit. The Rehabilitation Unit also employs physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social workers, dietitians, nursing assistants, discharge coordinators, and nurses.
Västmanlands Hospital Köping is highly skilled in stroke care and ranks at the top in national comparisons. Köping Hospital has received awards from Riksstroke multiple times, both as the stroke unit of the year and for recognition of good stroke care.
The hospital is very close to the train station, just a three-minute walk away. Commuting options to Köping are good. Train from Örebro to Köping takes 33 minutes, from Västerås to Köping 17 minutes, and from Eskilstuna to Köping 54 minutes.

Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is a licensed speech therapist. We would like you to be open to developing FUS (fiber endoscopic examination of swallowing), which is planned within the organization. If you have worked in inpatient/outpatient care and have experience with the Cosmic journal system, we consider that an advantage. A B driver's license is a requirement.
You have the ability to make independent decisions and can work both independently and as part of a team. Since the work and conditions vary, you must be flexible and able to adapt to new circumstances. Your ability to work well with others is important, and you listen and communicate in a constructive manner.
Employment Conditions
Full-time temporary position for 12 months with the possibility of extension. Start date by agreement.
