Hemavan Tärnaby is a small airport in the mountain region of Västerbotten. Here you live and work in the mountains with proximity to fishing, hiking, and skiing.

Currently, the airport is served by Populair, and we have flights six days a week. As we are a small airport, you will have varied tasks in your employment with us.

Both the work and the working hours vary throughout the year, depending on the season and flight schedules.

Employment is 75% on average throughout the year. During peak season, February-April and July-September, it is 100%, and during low season, May-June and October-January, it is 50%.

We are looking for someone who wants to work in a small team where you will have the opportunity to further your education in the airport sector. Previous work or education in the airport industry or emergency services is an advantage.

We offer you a workplace where no two days are the same. Sometimes we have a lot to do and need to work under pressure to keep to flight schedules. Other days are quieter, and we take care of the maintenance of machines and vehicles ourselves. We clear the runway for safe landings, load luggage, keep our facilities clean and tidy, and provide excellent service to our guests. You will also be part of the airport's emergency services. It is important that everyone knows what to do in the job, which is why we practice regularly and conduct internal checks daily. You need to be meticulous and enjoy order and structure. We use a digital system for routines, checks, and incident reporting.

During your initial time with us, you will need to undergo both internal and external training, much of which is conducted digitally.

Your personal qualities are important to us; we value responsiveness to the needs of the operation, personal responsibility, and drive. The work is surrounded by extensive regulations and established routines that must be followed. You have a structured work approach and good planning skills. You enjoy working with people and collaborating in a team.

If you have previously worked in a supervisory position, that is an advantage.

We prefer that you have experience working with digital systems, driving heavy vehicles, and mechanical skills are a plus.

A C-license is advantageous, as well as chainsaw and brush cutter training.

You should have good knowledge of Swedish and English in both spoken and written form.

You need to have good physical fitness and be able to pass a medical examination and physical fitness requirements in the form of a treadmill test.

Employment and contact

Recruitment is ongoing and may be terminated early. We apply a probationary period of 6 months. Safety is a high priority for us at Hemavan Tärnaby Airport. Approved security clearance and background check are required to work with us.

The scope of employment is part-time, but full-time and seasonal work may also be considered.

The job involves shift work, and the location is Hemavan.
