About the position
The complexity of hematology care creates endless opportunities for continuous education, and since the diseases affect the entire body, all of internal medicine is represented in one place, making even the most experienced nurse continuously develop.
As a specialist nurse, you provide support and guidance to patients and their families throughout the care process. You follow current research and development. You drive the implementation of current knowledge. You initiate and lead competency development and care development activities. You mentor and teach colleagues and students. You initiate and participate in care research in the field.
The patients treated with us are at different stages of their illness, from newly diagnosed patients with aggressive hematological cancer, requiring rapid treatment initiation, to those with a slower-growing disease. The tasks consist of advanced cancer treatments, where we are also at the forefront of introducing new regimens as well as caring for the entire sick person, which includes everything from life-saving treatments to good palliative care.
Over the past ten years, we have encountered many medical successes, where nurses in particular have played a crucial role and contributed to high survival rates.
We are located in both Solna and Huddinge. The different sites are responsible for different patient flows. In Solna, the highly specialized care of lymphoma patients and acute lymphoblastic leukemias is conducted. In Huddinge, highly specialized care of myeloma and acute myeloid leukemias is provided.
We are looking for someone who
- Is a team player with an interest in hematology and cancer care
- Has an empathetic approach towards colleagues and patients and good collaboration skills.
- Is driven and engaged and wants to be part of the continuous development of the unit.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability and consider group dynamics in the selection process.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Licensed nurse with specialist training in Oncology
- Previous clinical experience in hematology or oncology
Desirable:
As the work is advanced, we value a few years of work experience.
