About the position

Neurointervention is part of Neuroradiology and its highly specialized functional area. Working in Neurointervention means being at the forefront of radiology where we work with patient flows in multiprofessional and multidisciplinary teams. We are an important part of the acute stroke flow where we treat and perform thrombectomy (an interventional stroke treatment). In addition to our stroke activities, we also treat aneurysms, AVMs, fistulas, and other neurovascular diseases.

The Neurointervention unit is clinically and scientifically prominent in the development of new materials for various procedures, experimental angiography, stroke research, and the development of software and hardware for neuroangiography. We have two modern biplane angiolabs and an older one where we examine and treat both elective and acute patients coming to us from all over Stockholm and other parts of the country. The intake of acute patients occurs around the clock, sometimes directly from the ambulance, and therefore the position includes some on-call duty at home. Weekend and holiday shifts are part of the on-call duty. A special on-call agreement exists.

With us, you will be part of a stable multiprofessional team with experienced colleagues consisting of competent radiology nurses, nursing assistants, and doctors.

Research and development work is a natural part of our operations where everyone contributes. If you are interested and curious about our activities, you are warmly welcome to shadow us at Neurointervention.
