About the AssignmentWe are looking for a senior sub-project manager in procurement for a client in the defense industry. You will play a central role in driving and coordinating procurement-related activities related to material supply, where structure, business acumen, and collaboration are crucial for success.
The role involves overall responsibility for a product category and several parallel initiatives, where you act as support to the line organization and ensure that procurement strategies and commercial decisions are implemented in line with the organization's goals. You will closely collaborate with internal stakeholders as well as suppliers and partners, including internationally.
Responsibilities- Coordinate, lead, and follow up on procurement activities within assigned projects
- Analyze technical and commercial terms and contribute to procurement strategy per project
- Evaluate and develop the supplier base to ensure competitiveness and long-term profitability
- Lead and participate in cross-functional teams focused on efficiency, material assurance, and cost savings
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, processes, and procedures
- Represent procurement in projects and programs and be responsible for reporting, budget, and follow-up
- Contribute to the development of improved procurement processes and working methods
- At least 8 years of experience in strategic procurement and project management
- Documented experience in leading complex procurement projects from start to finish
- Strong commercial understanding as well as experience in negotiation, supplier evaluation, and contract work
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams and build long-term collaborations
- Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
- University degree in engineering or economics, or equivalent experience
- Ability to undergo and pass a security clearance (requires Swedish citizenship, dual citizenship is not permitted)
