Elderly Care in Västervik Municipality

We are looking for individuals who can work during the holiday period between weeks 24 and 35 in the elderly care sector of Västervik Municipality. You may be a student, unemployed, retired, or curious about a new profession and interested in getting a foot in our organization.

When you work as a substitute in our care services, you also have the opportunity to participate in fun activities all summer with the summer club Jollen! Care inspirers Moa, Malva, Clara, Adelia, and Olle, along with substitutes, will organize activities ranging from barbecue evenings, morning swims before work, ice cream at Bosses, or after-work gatherings at sunset, aimed at strengthening community and creating a better atmosphere among colleagues.

Your Responsibilities

Working with elderly people is fantastic! You will have an active and varied job that provides you with wonderful memories and experiences for life. In elderly care, we work from a salutogenic perspective with the individual's needs at the center. This means that your mission is to be attentive, motivate, encourage, and support people. You contribute to quality of life every day!

Common tasks in elderly care:

• Support in social situations
• Support in personal care and meals
• Medical work
• Digital documentation
• Work with technical aids
• Be a support and work with participation in the individual's daily activities

You can work in nursing homes, short-term care, or home care in various locations throughout the municipality. We are needed around the clock, all week, so work during the day, evening, and night may occur on weekdays and weekends. Heavy transfers may occur in the job, but you will have assistance from aids.

Your Workplace

Our services in elderly care and home care are located in Västervik, Gamleby, Överum, Edsbruk, Loftahammar, Gunnebo, Ankarsrum, and Hjorted. You will have the opportunity to request a workplace, but we prefer that you are flexible. In Edsbruk and Loftahammar, there is a possibility for the employer to support with accommodation during the summer.

At Annagården's short-term and respite care facility in Västervik, individuals temporarily reside, for example, coming from the hospital for shorter periods and receiving support in their rehabilitation. Here, individuals also reside alternately with their regular accommodation for a couple of weeks at a time.

Qualifications

The greatest emphasis is placed on your personal qualities. It is not a requirement to have worked in elderly care before.

We primarily seek individuals who are 18 years or older. A B driver's license is required for several assignments within home care. It is a requirement that you master the Swedish language, as documentation and verbal communication are crucial for fulfilling the assignment. Documentation is done digitally, so you need to be comfortable working in digital environments.

We are looking for someone who:

• has a good view of humanity and a positive attitude
• is caring, empathetic, and concerned about others' well-being
• is responsible regarding both your tasks and professional relationships
• is communicative and finds it easy to be understood and to understand others
• is respectful and values each person's integrity
• is flexible and prepared to step in at short notice

It is advantageous if you:

• have previous experience in elderly care or other equivalent experience
• have relevant high school or post-secondary education
• have a B driver's license
• have previous experience in service or educational work
