Central Student Health
In Smedjebacken Municipality, there is a central student health team consisting of a total of nine employees excluding the school psychologist/head of student health. The central student health team consists of school nurses, school social workers, social pedagogues, and school doctors. Special educators are present at each school unit and fall under the principal's responsibility.
The mission of student health is to work health-promoting and preventive at the individual, group, and organizational levels to support students towards educational goals.
The central student health team works with preschool classes up to grade nine. There are approximately 1100 students distributed across six school units. We have a common strategy for education in our municipality; to create a cohesive educational chain that contributes to increased equity, improved academic results, and attractive education.

Job Responsibilities
In your role as head of central student health, your task will be to plan, lead, develop, and follow up on the operations. You will work towards set goals and be responsible for operations, finances, personnel, quality, and working environment.
In the role of operations manager, you will work closely with the administrative manager, who will also be your supervisor. You will also be part of the management team of the family and education administration and contribute to the strategic development of the organization. You are expected to participate in the regional student health manager network and collaborate internally and externally with, for example, schools, social services, the region, authorities, etc.
In your work as a school psychologist, you will work in a team with other student health personnel. Your tasks as a school psychologist include working at the organizational, group, and individual levels. The work involves being part of the school's cross-professional student health team and primarily working with promoting and preventive measures that contribute to creating environments that enhance students' learning, development, and health. The role of the school psychologist is to provide psychological expertise as support in the educational work. The school psychologist's mission also includes conducting psychological assessments and evaluations, as well as providing guidance and consultation to the central student health staff and the school's educators, special educators, and principals. We use the PMO journal system for documentation. The school psychologist should contribute knowledge about protective and risk factors for students' health, learning, and development, for example, through training on mental health.
Other tasks may also occur, and the content and conditions of the work may change over time.
Qualifications
- Licensed psychologist
- Preferably with experience working in schools
- We would like you to have experience in leadership roles
- A driver's license is required as the municipality's schools have a wide geographic spread
