About the Position

Department 76 focuses on general internal medicine, and our patients have a wide range of internal medical diagnoses. Our goal is to provide care for the acutely ill patient. With us, you will have the opportunity to further develop a broad competence in internal medicine. We have direct admissions from the emergency department around the clock and transfers from other areas within the hospital, which means you will meet and care for patients with both acute and chronic medical conditions.

We work in teams, learn from each other, and have good collaboration between professions where the patient's best interest is our common goal.

Job Description

The work as an assistant nurse is a varied job that involves qualified care and nursing of patients. We work in teams around our patients, where the teams consist of doctors, nurses, assistant nurses, and paramedics. Therefore, we place great importance on being attentive to others' needs; you sense, listen, and convey information clearly and directly.

Your main tasks include, in addition to basic nursing, regular monitoring of vital parameters, nutritional needs, venous and capillary blood sampling, catheter insertion, wound dressing, EKG recording, mobilization, etc. With us, you will also work with patients who have telemetry monitoring.

Qualifications

Qualified assistant nurse through the upper secondary school’s Health and Care program for 3 years (2500 points), Health and Care program, Komvux, three semesters (minimum 1350 points), or another equivalent assistant nurse education. In the case of other equivalent education within municipal adult education or older assistant nurse training, an individual assessment will be made.

Experience in emergency care is desirable. Good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing.

You need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare or be covered by transitional regulations for assistant nurses to be employed with the title assistant nurse. Otherwise, you may be employed within the category of healthcare assistant.
