The Technical and Property Management Department delivers internal services so that our colleagues in other operations can focus on their core activities. We are responsible for the operation and development of public land and issue permits so that the municipal group and businesses can conduct their activities. We also ensure that children, students, and care recipients receive good and nutritious food and that the municipality's premises are well-maintained and suitable for their purpose.

As the unit manager for the construction unit, you are part of the Technical and Property Management Department's property operations, and we are the engine in everything from new construction to renovation and larger maintenance projects in Kalmar Municipality. Our mission is to create attractive and sustainable environments for, for example, schools, sports facilities, and care homes both today and for future generations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a unit manager, you will lead, support, and inspire 6 engaged employees with broad expertise in project management, HVAC, and construction technology. You will drive the renewal work and ensure that the construction unit achieves its goals through clear routines and structures. The role is both operational and strategic, and you are responsible for the implementation of construction projects and have daily contact with project managers, designers, and contractors. You are the link between the municipality's vision and practical work, and you have a hand in procurement, budgets, timelines, and customer contacts.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

• Relevant higher education in civil engineering, organization, leadership, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.
• Several years of experience in construction operations and contract procurement in a leading position.

It is an advantage if you have:

• Knowledge of procurement and contract law.
• Experience from the real estate industry and politically governed organizations.
