Göteborgs Symfoniker AB is looking for a chef for our à la carte restaurant and event operations
Göteborgs Symfoniker AB is a wholly owned subsidiary within the Västra Götaland region. The operations are conducted in culturally protected premises in the Concert Hall at Götaplatsen in Gothenburg and is one of the largest cultural institutions in Västra Götaland. The Concert Hall hosts a large number of events annually in the form of concerts and conferences, both organized by us and rented out to external organizers. Concerts with our own orchestra, Göteborgs Symfoniker, constitute the main part of the concert activities. Göteborgs Symfoniker is Sweden's National Orchestra, an orchestra with international brilliance.
The Concert Hall has an à la carte restaurant with seating for about 50 guests, a wine bar, and several foyer bars that are open in connection with concerts. We serve lunch on weekdays for the orchestra, à la carte for concert visitors, and a café selection in our foyer bars during performances, and on several occasions, larger events/conferences are arranged in connection with our halls, Stora Salen and Stenhammarsalen. We are now looking for a chef who can make our restaurant a fantastic experience together with our head chef and our department. We offer a dynamic workplace where the restaurant visit enhances the entire art experience for the guest. You will work with a high standard menu and organic ingredients. We have a larger selection of wines and a wine bar adjacent to the restaurant where we sell our exclusive wines and a smaller menu.
The chef is part of a wonderful team together with the Audience & Events Manager, head chef, audience & service managers, and service colleagues during the evening. The Audience & Events Manager and the head chef set the framework for our operations, within these frameworks you as a chef with us have great freedom to work independently and creatively. You should be prepared to work with preparations for many different types of events.
In addition to à la carte for our concert guests, we also work with larger conferences and events where we prepare food for up to 1200 guests. The work shifts are scheduled during the day, evening, and weekends. The position is a 100% employment with a flexible start date. We have a collective agreement according to Scen & film/Svensk Scenkonst.
We conduct interviews continuously, and as part of the recruitment process, we see that you do a trial work with us.
Qualifications
To apply, you need to:
- Have 3 years of documented experience in the restaurant industry.
- Have at least 2 years of experience in an à la carte restaurant.
- Be able to work independently and take initiative.
- Have relevant education.
- Have good collaboration skills.
It is an advantage if you also have:
- Experience in leadership.
