We are currently looking for Field Technicians in Norrbotten (Luleå/Boden/Piteå/Älvsbyn) who want to take responsibility in the field, work with modern technology, and contribute to our important societal mission.

Your mission: Protect buried infrastructure

Every day, excavation work is taking place all over Sweden – and every day, important lines for electricity, fiber, and water risk being damaged. Damages that can have serious consequences for societal functions, businesses, and critical services. At Geomatikk, we work to protect this vital infrastructure that keeps society functioning.

As a Field Technician at Geomatikk, you play an important role in preventing these disruptions, both along the railway, roads, and other places where excavation work is carried out. Using GPS and modern measuring instruments, you will locate and mark exactly where the buried cables are – so that excavation work can be carried out safely without damaging the infrastructure.

Your everyday life as a Field Technician

The role involves significant personal responsibility and plenty of fresh air! You will spend your workday out in the field with your car as your mobile office. Your days will vary, but what is common is that you move between different locations and contribute your expertise and safety mindset. It is therefore important that you are service-oriented, clear in your communication, and enjoy taking responsibility.

You will:

• locate, mark, and measure cables with advanced measuring technology both along the railway, roads, and other locations where excavation work is carried out
• prevent cable damage
• have contact with customers and contractors in the field

We are looking for someone who has

Basic requirements:

• Technical aptitude and ability to read maps and technical documentation
• Good orientation skills and a strong safety mindset
• Service-oriented and clear in communication
• Driver's license (B) and high school education or equivalent
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written

Meritorious:

• Previous experience working in a railway environment
• Knowledge of railway safety and regulations regarding track work
• Training and experience as SoS leader, SoS planner, or TSM
• Experience in railway maintenance or construction work
• English language skills

Security requirements & health check

Since Geomatikk's clients conduct security-protected operations, you as a candidate for the position must undergo a security clearance. This consists of a background check and a special interview, and is done in connection with or after your job interview. You must give your consent for us to carry out the clearance. Employment can only occur after the security clearance has been completed and approved.

The position also requires you to undergo a health check, according to client requirements and the tasks involved. Employment can only occur if both the security clearance and health check are approved.
