About the workplace

Erikshjälpen is a children's rights organization with a non-profit second-hand operation. We work in about 100 projects in 16 countries and run around 50 stores within Erikshjälpen Second Hand in Sweden and Norway. We work according to the vision; A changed world where children's dreams come to life. Our mission is to combat poverty and vulnerability by realizing children's rights worldwide.

In Lund, the store has been run in collaboration between the Pingst Church and Erikshjälpen Second Hand for 35 years. The Pingst congregation in Lund has a strong social commitment. In addition to the three Erikshjälpen stores in Lund municipality, the congregation runs Mathjälpen and other social projects in Lund and abroad.

Description

We are looking for someone who wants to work with mentoring our volunteers, work trainees, interns, and employees. You will work closely with the store manager and other team leaders, creating an environment where everyone can participate based on their abilities. Together with the staff, you will drive the daily operations forward. You will be responsible for several departments in the store and work alongside those you mentor. Primarily, you will be in the store and preparation, but some administrative tasks will also be included.

We expect that you who get the position will be a good representative for the Pingst Church in Lund and Erikshjälpen Second Hand by following and working towards achieving the organization's policies and surplus goals, social goals, and environmental goals.

Responsibilities

Examples of responsibilities:

  • You lead and participate in the daily work in the store and donation reception together with the store management and the store's employees.
  • You act as a team leader for employees, volunteers, and individuals undergoing work trials, activities, or other employment via authorities.
  • Jointly responsible for the store during opening hours, will also have store responsibility on certain Saturdays.
  • Together in the store management, you will develop the operations.
  • You contribute to and create joy at work in the store.

Qualifications

You:

  • have the ability to plan, organize, and see structures
  • have a good ability to collaborate and lead people in work
  • are flexible and thrive in an environment where many balls are in the air at the same time
  • appreciate many new contacts
  • share our values based on three core principles; the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, Erik's spirit, and a Christian view of humanity.

It is meritorious if you have:

  • experience in leading people and groups
  • knowledge of NPF
  • experience of voluntary work in a congregation or other activities
  • a good eye for aesthetics and signage.

Conditions

Employment type: Permanent employment, 6 months probationary period
