Båstad Montessori School Asken is located in the picturesque Bjäre, in the village of Grevie. The school is run by a parent cooperative where the board consists of parents and staff. The association also operates two preschools in the municipality, and there are approximately 225 children and about 53 adults in our operations.

The Montessori School Asken has over 150 students aged 6–12 years. The operations are characterized by a holistic approach, clear structure, and a shared responsibility for the children's everyday life. The school and the after-school care work closely together, and all functions in the operations are important for creating safety, well-being, and good conditions for the children.

Are you motivated to work in an environment with children and young people and have experience working in school kitchens or preschool kitchens? We are now looking for an experienced kitchen manager for our school and after-school care. You will become part of an organization where cooperation is valued and where colleagues are close at hand in daily work.

The position includes responsibility for meal organization, orders, serving, and the daily operation of the kitchen. It is not a cooking kitchen – food is delivered from an external restaurant and prepared and served on-site.

As a kitchen manager, you have a central role in the operations and are responsible for ensuring that meals run smoothly in everyday life. You are responsible for ensuring that lunch and snacks are carried out in a safe, hygienic, and well-organized manner and that the kitchen operates in a structured and efficient way. The work involves collaboration with the school's and after-school care's staff, but also an independent responsibility for the kitchen's planning and execution.

Qualifications and personal qualities

We are looking for someone who has experience working in school kitchens, preschool kitchens, or similar operations and who is confident in responsibilities related to food handling and hygiene.

Education in restaurant and food service, or equivalent, is an advantage.

As a person, you are stable, meticulous, and engaged in your work. You collaborate well with others, have a professional demeanor, and create good relationships with both children and adults. You are clear in your communication and contribute to a calm and safe meal situation.

Personal suitability will be of great importance in the hiring process.

Job responsibilities

You will be responsible for, among other things:

• Ordering food for breakfast and snacks for the school and after-school care
• Calculating portion sizes and ordering lunch from an external restaurant
• Receiving, preparing, and serving meals
• Organization and responsibility for special diets and allergies
• Documentation of ordered portions, waste, and self-control
• Monitoring food handling according to applicable laws and guidelines
• Responsibility for hygiene, dishwashing, cleanliness, and waste sorting
• Checking dates, labeling, and proper storage of food
• Contact and cooperation with food suppliers
• Preparing snacks for staff meetings
• Planning for alternatives in case of temporary delivery problems
• Other tasks related to kitchen and food distribution
