JOB DESCRIPTION
As a correctional officer, you will be part of a team where you have daily contact with the client. Work at the remand facility is often routine-oriented and focused on care and security tasks. Clients may be detained for long periods without meeting anyone other than their lawyer and the staff at the remand facility, which places special demands on you as a correctional officer.
Working as a correctional officer means you can make a difference for other people and contribute to a better society. To thrive and succeed in your role, it is important that you share the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's fundamental values of a humane view of humanity, respect for the individual, and the belief that people can develop.
The vacation period refers to weeks 25 to 34.
QUALIFICATIONS
Your personal qualities are important to us. As a correctional officer, you need to be secure, stable, and have good self-awareness. Since you will be working with your colleagues to run the operations, you need to have good teamwork skills and the ability to communicate clearly. Good judgment and integrity are required in your professional practice. You must have a physical condition that allows you to act physically when the situation demands it.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Work experience, including seasonal work, part-time employment, or self-employment. Internships and volunteer work are not considered equivalent to employment.
- A completed upper secondary education or other education combined with work experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant.
- Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.
- Good computer skills.
It is an advantage if you have:
- Work experience in corrections, security work, social care, psychiatry, or health and care work.
- Knowledge in relevant fields, such as behavioral science, criminology, psychiatry, law, and conflict management.
- Relevant language skills.
