Here, you and your colleagues can contribute to development work. We are in an exciting phase that will develop and strengthen our organization. We are constantly working to improve, and the opportunities to contribute are many. Do you want to help shape the future of Gotland? Welcome to become one of us!

Your Responsibilities

As a building permit officer, you will realize building projects. You will lead and manage your own building permit cases from the incoming application to the final decision. You will work independently but be part of a team of officers who have continuous check-ins, make assessments together, and share experiences.

In the role of building permit officer, you will, among other things, handle permit cases and preliminary decisions based on support in legislation, regulations, detailed plans, comprehensive plans, and regional guidelines. You will act as an advisor and sounding board for customers on questions about building permits and preliminary decisions. In your role, you will prepare and present cases for decisions in the environmental and building committee and serve as expert advice for other units and administrations.

Knowledge sharing, collaboration, participation in quality and development processes, monitoring the environment, and professional development are essential parts of maintaining high quality in the work.

In your role as a building permit officer, we also want you to support colleagues and the organization in matters related to design and architecture.

The position is based in Visby, but there are some opportunities to perform parts of the work from home.

Who Are You?

You have an architectural education or equivalent qualifications and experience in handling building permits. Since you will be making site visits in the position, a B driver's license is required.

It is advantageous if you have experience working in areas that are not detailed-planned and if you have experience supporting colleagues in matters related to design and architecture.

You have good knowledge of the Planning and Building Act, the National Board of Housing, Building and Planning's regulations, and have good experience in handling cases independently.

As a person, you have a strong drive, are engaged, and have an interest in construction and the environment. You work in a structured and analytical manner, which is necessary to handle complex cases and make well-founded decisions even when circumstances change. Flexibility and adaptability are therefore important qualities for this role. You are unpretentious, have good judgment, and meet every person with understanding and respect, showing humility and being attentive. Since communication is a significant part of our mission, you need to have a good ability to communicate clearly and professionally in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and be pedagogical in your meetings with various stakeholders. You work seamlessly in digital environments, as the entire case process is digital.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability and are looking for someone who wants to help us on the journey to make it easy to apply for building permits that are correct and legally secure according to applicable laws and regulations.
