The psychiatric area includes both outpatient and inpatient care and treats patients in Jämtland County in need of specialist psychiatric care. The area has approximately 270 employees. Within the psychiatric clinic in Östersund, all specialist care is housed under one roof, which allows for close collaboration within and between professions and good opportunities for personal development for you as an employee with us.

At Psychiatric Acute Ward 1B, there are a total of 10 beds, of which two are dedicated to children and young people under 18 years in need of inpatient care. We are now looking for nursing assistants who primarily work in the teams around our child and adolescent psychiatry (BUP) places.

Your immediate manager will be the Unit Manager for Psychiatric Acute Care Ward 1B.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We care for patients in the most acute phase, and you will meet patients with varying diagnoses, conditions, and needs, making the work varied and developmental. Care is always tailored to the individual needs of the patient.

As a nursing assistant in inpatient care, you work closest to the patient and provide daily support through personal care and social contacts. With us, you work alongside other professional categories such as nurses, doctors, social workers, and psychologists. You will have a broad and exciting field of work and close collaboration with Child and Adolescent Psychiatry's outpatient care.

Typical nursing assistant tasks on the ward include medical checks and sampling according to orders. Based on medical orders and in collaboration with the responsible nurse, you provide psychiatric care, for example, in the form of support conversations, psychoeducation, and parental support.

You support the establishment of daily routines regarding sleep, food, and activities. You provide assistance during meals and collaborate with the BUP Eating Disorder Team.

Your tasks also include collaborating with the BUP Acute Team and outpatient care coordinators, schools, social services, and any other healthcare contacts.

QUALIFICATIONS

Nursing Assistant

We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in psychiatric care work and who wants a stimulating job where you learn about acute psychiatric operations. You have a respectful approach towards patients, their relatives, and colleagues. You do not need to be fully trained, but you want to develop and learn. In your introduction, you will receive training in eating support as many of our patients under 18 years have this need.

You are a positive person who enjoys collaborating with different professional categories. As an employee on the ward, you will also work with the care of other patients alongside your colleagues when needed. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, are flexible, and used to taking responsibility. When hiring, we take great consideration of your personal suitability.

Meritorious:

• Experience working in child and adolescent psychiatry
• Skills and practical experience working with children, adolescents, and families.
