Unit Manager at the Swedish Medical Products Agency

We at the new IT unit of LV are looking for a unit manager who wants to continue building and developing the organization.

Our Operations

We participate in the entire lifecycle from idea, architecture, design, development, testing, deployment to management, incident handling, and user support. The IT unit of the Swedish Medical Products Agency currently consists of about 115 engaged employees with various backgrounds and competencies who together take a holistic approach to the agency's IT needs. The unit is part of the Operations Support area, and from January 1, 2026, the unit will be divided into two, for which we are now seeking a unit manager for the part focusing on cybersecurity, infrastructure, and user support. You will be part of the management team for the operational area along with the other unit manager and report to the director.

We are located in bright and open offices at Uppsala Science Park, close to nature and a short walk to the city center.

Your Responsibilities

As a unit manager, you are responsible for leading and developing the unit for cybersecurity, infrastructure, and user support. You have overall responsibility for IT infrastructure, platforms, and communication solutions, as well as ensuring continuity and technical cybersecurity.

The role includes:

• Personnel and budget responsibility for your unit.
• Work in management and steering groups where you contribute to aligning with the organization's overall goals.
• Work with business development activities in close collaboration with others to improve our processes and work methods.

Your Background

We are looking for someone with relevant and current leadership experience in IT as a manager with personnel and budget responsibility. You have extensive experience in working with IT infrastructure and skills in change management and business development. You also have experience leading and having personnel responsibility for directly reporting managers.

You also have:

• A higher education in computer science, systems science, or equivalent experience assessed by the employer.
• Experience in management and steering group work within IT.
• Experience from a government agency.
• Very good knowledge of Swedish and English in speech and writing.

Desirable:

• Experience leading or participating in larger IT projects.
• Good knowledge of procurement processes and supplier management in larger projects.
