We are now offering you the opportunity to make everyday life easier for the people of Örebro! We are looking for several park workers to work in the Park and Street, Construction and Maintenance department during the season from April to September 2026. As a park worker, you will help maintain our green areas to create an attractive city that we can be proud of.

In the Park and Street unit, you will be part of a large team with many different skills and high engagement, creating public environments that are accessible to everyone. We work to ensure that Örebro is a pleasant, safe, and clean city with secure and good communications. You will be based in Berglunda, but you will often find us out on the streets and in the parks of Örebro.

Examples of tasks:

• Maintenance and care of parks and green areas
• Lawn mowing, hedge trimming, tree care and nature conservation, care of perennials and annuals

About the workplace

Within the Park and Street operations, approximately 150 employees work across three units responsible for the operation, maintenance, and development of streets, traffic, squares, parks, and parking. We are a development-intensive organization that actively works to increase our customer dialogue and meet the needs and wishes of the citizens.

The Construction and Maintenance unit is responsible for the operation and maintenance of parks, trees, playgrounds, bridges, industrial tracks, pedestrian and bicycle paths, road construction, snow removal, ice control, asphalt restoration, asphalt maintenance, and new street construction. The unit is also responsible for ongoing planning and development within the area of operations.

Qualifications

You are self-sufficient and can structure your work effectively. You can collaborate with others but also have the ability to work independently. You can adapt to needs, are methodical, and can safely handle the tasks. Since the work requires some physical effort, it is important that you have good physical conditions. Furthermore, you master the Swedish language in such a way that you can communicate and document what the organization requires without hindrance.

We place great importance on personal suitability.

Requirements:

• Relevant high school education
• Driving license B

Meritorious:

• Experience in park and nature care such as tree felling, bush trimming, perennials, plantings, etc.
• Authorization and experience working with lifts
• License for chainsaw and brush cutter
• Authorization to perform playground inspections
• Training in Safety on the Road
• Basic computer skills
• Experience in tractor driving
