About the Position
As a Buyer, you will work to ensure that the business has access to the right goods and services at the right quality, price, and terms. The role includes both direct and indirect purchasing and involves close collaboration with internal stakeholders as well as external suppliers.
You will be part of a purchasing team where you work independently with great responsibility and report to the purchasing manager. The work takes place in a professional and business-oriented environment with a focus on efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement. The position is located at the client's site in Arvika, which is a large global corporation in construction machinery. Working hours are daytime with flexible hours, full-time.
In your role as a Buyer, your main responsibilities will include:
- Responsible for purchasing goods and services within both direct and indirect categories
- Conduct supplier selection, negotiations of prices and terms, and follow-up on supplier performance
- Drive and participate in purchasing projects and work on continuous improvements of purchasing processes
- Challenge existing supplier arrangements to increase efficiency and cost control
- If you are a senior buyer, the role may also involve supporting, coaching, and reviewing the work of more junior colleagues as needed
The position as a buyer is a consulting assignment starting in February or by agreement, depending on notice period. The assignment is expected to last at least one year.
About You
We are looking for someone who preferably has several years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, or a similar role, preferably within industry, production, or manufacturing. You have post-secondary education in areas such as economics, engineering, logistics, or purchasing, or equivalent work experience. You are accustomed to working with supplier negotiations, contracts, and commercial terms and have good system skills.
Furthermore, we see that you are a structured, business-driven, and self-reliant person who enjoys taking responsibility. You have good communication skills, are analytical, and find it easy to collaborate with different functions. You are confident in your role, can handle complex issues, and are happy to contribute knowledge to the team.
Important for the position:
- Experience in purchasing
- Good negotiation skills and business understanding
- Ability to work independently and drive processes forward
