Occupational Therapist for the Health Centers in Southern Lapland

The health stations are part of the southern Lapland local healthcare area, which is a model area in the transition to close care. With effective collaboration and a focus on the citizen, we drive important change initiatives within the region and together with the municipality. Clinical assessments at a distance and digital healthcare meetings are rapidly developing and are an important part of ensuring good, close, and accessible care in this area. Therefore, it is no coincidence that we are at the forefront in this field. The health station model, which is an important starting point for close care, characterizes both the approach and methods in the daily operations of the organization.

Storuman, Sorsele, and Tärnaby health stations are part of the same base unit and are located in southern Lapland, 130 kilometers apart, with Sorsele and Storuman being 70 kilometers apart. The nearest hospital is in Lycksele, where the county's ambulance helicopter is stationed.

Our health stations function as well-equipped mini-hospitals with access to emergency care beds, X-ray, ambulance services, and laboratories. Our use of telemedicine is well developed. Here, you will find occupational therapists, midwives, physiotherapists, social workers, doctors, psychologists, secretaries, nurses, and nursing assistants. We provide emergency care as well as routine work at the health center and have a well-developed collaboration between all our professional groups and with the municipalities.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As an occupational therapist with us at the health stations, you contribute to taking good care of others and helping people feel better.

You work both individually and in groups, often together with other professional groups. You will perform standard occupational therapy tasks such as assessments, investigations, rehabilitation, and the trial of assistive devices within the ward and outpatient clinic. Your work also includes guidance and support to other healthcare staff and relatives.

The work is conducted in Tärnaby, Sorsele, and Storuman, and a B driver's license is required as travel between locations occurs.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a licensed occupational therapist, preferably with experience, but this is not a requirement. It is an advantage if you have previously worked in healthcare or municipal healthcare.

As a person, you are confident in your professional role and have good self-awareness. The work requires a good ability to take responsibility and plan. You are attentive and responsive to the individual's needs. You are good at structuring your work and drive your own processes forward. You find it easy to create and maintain contacts and enjoy working independently as well as in a team.
