We are now looking for two full-time nurses for wards 35–36 at Löwenströmska Hospital.

We are also looking for someone interested in a part-time position who can step in when needed.

With us, patients are cared for under the Care of Persons with Mental Disorder Act (LRV), and the wards are a care unit in security class 3. The goal of forensic psychiatric care is to habilitate and rehabilitate patients to a life in society with increased psychosocial function and reduced risk of reoffending.

What is it like to work as a nurse in forensic psychiatry?

In addition to standard nursing tasks such as medication distribution, sampling, and injections, you will be part of a care team where you, together with nursing assistants, have primary responsibility for the care planning for your patients. You will also collaborate closely with other professionals in the clinic such as occupational therapists, social workers, psychologists, and doctors.

The days for our patients are characterized by a clear structure where staff review the day's planning every morning. Patients have the opportunity to participate in activities at the clinic, which may include physical activity, cooking, ceramics, and more. Since we are a class 3 unit, some patients have progressed further in their transition and can go on outings for activities.

It is important to us that you feel secure in your role. If you are new to forensic psychiatry, you will undergo training, including the Bergen model, which is a method for preventing and responding to threats and violence. We also have annual training in medical technology and S-CPR.

You will also receive an individualized introduction based on your previous experiences and knowledge. It should be easy to ask for help, and collaboration among nurses in the clinic is good.

We offer flexible working hours, wellness hours, free health care, and an annual wellness allowance of 5000 SEK. The clinic also has access to a small gym that staff can use at no cost.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse. Further education in psychiatry is an advantage; otherwise, you have good opportunities to specialize with us.

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability, where we prefer that you are self-assured, have good collaboration skills, and act solution-oriented when the need arises. We are looking for someone who is passionate about patient care and contributes to a good work environment.
