JOB DESCRIPTION

Do you want to work with the important school meals? We currently have two open positions as kitchen assistants at Ekebackenskolan. The school, which is a F6 school, has about 270 students. The kitchen is a receiving kitchen, which means that several components are prepared on-site, while the main components are delivered hot from Kungshögskolan. Students are served food in a student square and eat in their home room/classroom. The kitchen is organized under the food department of the technical administration. The employment is with the food department, and placement may change if needed.

The tasks of a kitchen assistant include ordering goods and meals, preparing salads/simple cooking, as well as dishwashing/cleaning. The municipality aims to prepare climate-smart food from scratch with good ingredients and engaged staff. We actively work to maintain the lowest possible climate footprint, for example, through menu planning and reduced food waste. We work closely with customers with short lead times and need to be flexible and have a positive attitude.

QUALIFICATIONS

For the position, a chef's education in the form of a three-year hotel and restaurant program from high school or other education/experience deemed equivalent by the employer is required. Furthermore, you need to have good knowledge of special diets, food hygiene, and basic computer skills.

The position requires excellent collaboration and service skills, the ability to communicate verbally and in writing, and an interest in development work within the meal service. Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities such as verified collaboration ability and education.

Application for the food department requires a criminal record extract upon job offer. This is according to the law on background checks within preschool activities, schools, and childcare. (SFS 2000:873)

A B driver's license is desirable.

Employment type: Permanent position and temporary employment.
Scope: Full-time as standard.
Working hours: Daytime
